Hub domain settings: previously used Site URLs not available

In ArcGIS Online, I have created Hub sites in past and then deleted them. Later, I create a new site and want to give it the same Site URL that I had used once before on the now-deleted site.

I get the error message below of "You already have a site that uses this subdomain."

Is there a way to "clear the cache" or something like this in the Online organization so that I may use that Site URL again?

I'm facing same problem. Please also guide me about this issue.

Also having this issue over a year later. Was there any resolution? It's a significant problem. Not being able to utilize a clear and concise domain name because they're locked for some reason is quite bad.

I had a support call over this in June 2024 but we never we able to clear the cache and resolve the issue

We also ran into additional issues as we ere testing things.

  • I am unable to edit the redirect now because it does not recognize the CNAME record (that definitely exists) in the DNS.
  • See attached screenshot.

And, because they were not able to replicate the issue, I don't think a bug is being tracked.

So, I guess this is just a pitfall for now: be careful choosing a redirect URL so you don't want to modify it later.
