Hi Hubbers and Hub Team!

After a long wait we finally have the code to enable Hub Premium for our Hub @ opdgig.dos.ny.gov

One of the first things we need to do when using the Hub Premium code is name the community organization. Can someone clarify - this will not in any way change our current public Hub site at "opdgig.dos.ny.gov" ... it is simply the URL that registered community members will access?

IF a person is registered in the Hub community related to opdgig.dos.ny.gov will they still be able to comment on datasets, or participate in discussions on the "opdgig.dos.ny.gov" Hub site?

Hi @NFlourish, the short answer is "no, your existing Hub Sites will not be affected" when you upgrade to Premium. Community users will be able to navigate to your existing site and sign-in using their community account credentials to follow your efforts, participate in discussions, RSVP for events, save content to their 'Favorites', and access private content if you share it to them.

To provide a little more context, the community organization is an ArcGIS Online Organization under-the-hood (as described in Hub's Web Help). When you activate Hub Premium (and be sure to do so following the instructions in the Web Help), setting its name and URL will determine the organization and URL where community accounts, community content, and community groups can be found. However, any existing sites created in the primary ArcGIS Online organization will be unaffected, and community users will be able to sign-in using their community accounts through their sites.

Your community organizations name will appear in a few places, but the places where your community members are most likely to see it are if and when they attempt to sign-up for a community account. If your organization allows community users to sign-up for accounts, the community name will appear on the sign-in window.

When someone clicks that link, they'll see a sign-up form where they'll again see the community organization's name. You can customize the welcome message and terms and conditions that appear in this sign-up form via Hub settings in your primary organization.

Keep in mind that once set, the community organization's URL cannot be changed, so choose carefully!
