I have out Open Data site extent set to the downtown Phoenix area:

Why is it when you click on the Planning, Development and Zoning link,

it changes to a different extent?

Why?

That is what I thought too, but they are all the same. I finally opened a ticket with support and it might be an issue where I was using a template someone gave me and it has a "group" layer. That "group" has no extents associated with it:

This may be the cause. I'll keep folks posted on if this is the issue or not.

Hi Venus,

The extent on searches is not set by the default extent on your site. Instead, it moves to encompass the extent of all your results' bounding boxes. It's possible that one of your items has an incorrect extent and that is causing the map to move to a place that doesn't make sense.

Does that help?

Yep, this puppy was the problem! I had to recreate the service and now the extent works as intended!
