Understanding that Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are unique to each project, are there any available resources that provide some averages or typical KPIs?

I'm looking for the same thing.  In my search for KPI's around GIS specifics and the clients / business operations it supports I haven't found much in terms of direct GIS related KPI's.  I have found information on how to use GIS to demonstrate KPI's for other things such as asset management for example which isn't what I'm after.

To give some context to individuals in the organization around GIS and to demonstrate the effectiveness of GIS to the organization KPI's would be valuable in doing so.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

thx.

I'm not sure of what resources are available on KPIs, but I can ask around.

GeoPlanner does have the curated template "GeoPlanner Template for Economic Development Planning", which does provide some sample KPIs related to economic development planning. Here are a few of the KPIs available in the template:

  • Number of New Single Family Units
    [acres]*[DUA]
  • Number of New Multi Family Units
    ([acres]*[DUA])+([squarefeet]*[LotCover]*[Stories_Residential]*[NetFactor]/[Avg_DU_Area])
  • New Dwelling Units Total (DU)
    ([acres]*[DUA])+([squarefeet]*[LotCover]*[Stories_Residential]*[NetFactor]/[Avg_DU_Area])
  • Area of New Office (GFA)
    ([squarefeet]*[LotCover]*[Stories_Office])
  • Area of New Retail (GFA)
    ([squarefeet]*[LotCover]*[Stories_Retail])

Thanks,

Kenneth

Not sure if you'll find this helpful, but I found this article on the Esri Blog:
