Using hurricane forecasts to determine district operation levels

These operational levels are typically codified into lists of specific actions that must be taken to ensure readiness and avoid or minimize damage from a hurricane. In the example here, we’ll explore how the current operational status of transportation districts in the State of Florida, USA can be calculated automatically using hurricane forecast data from Hurricane Irene in 2017, available from the NOAA National Hurricane Center.
