I have created a multi-line label with values from multiple fields. For example:
[MeasuredConductorType] & vbnewline & [MeasuredClearance_Metre]

This shows up correctly in ArcMap. However, when I open the data in my ArcGIS Mobile application I don't see any label at all.

If I change the label to only use one line with one feature the label will show up properly but as soon as I add a new line the entire label will no longer show.

I'm using ArcGIS 10, build 2550.

Hi there

In short, labelling is not one of ArcGIS for Windows Mobile strengths - we have had similar issues and the only solution is to add a new field and concatenate the other fields to populate this but this will only create a one line label - we have not been able to add multi-line labels.

Also, you cannot define multiple label classes either, for example for different colors / styles, and all features are labelled using the first label class by default.

Hope this helps and maybe more labelling options will be available in AGM 10.2 if it is ever released... 😉

As a work around you could create a geodatabase annotation featureclass from your labels and then include / add this to your mobilecache.

cheers

Thanks for the information Tim. I was afraid this was going to be the "answer".

I have already made a geodatabase annotation featureclass as a work around but I'm having issues with this as well. The annotations are oriented differently when it's opened in the mobile application plus they do not re-size when zooming in/out. I'm just starting down this path though so I'm sure there are some settings I need to adjust.

Thanks,

Chad

I know this was being discussed 2 years ago, but it still is messy with ArcGIS Mobile10.2.1 and it can't handle Labels and annotations well
Was just curious to know what you did there to get this working? or did someone ever got it working?

Thanks,

Pramod

Yes, I would love to see a solution to this. As far as I was aware this was still not possible in 10.0
