Arcgis Mobile10 and Trimble differential correction

Hi Fabian,

Currently ArcGIS Mobile only supports real time differential correction utilizing SBAS satellite augmentation.  This functionality is included in the core software, so no additional extensions are necessary.

Post processed differential correction is currently only available with ArcPad in conjunction with Trimble GPScorrect and GPS Analyst.

good. My organization requires an accuracy below the meter, I think doing an integration ArcGIS Mobile SDK and GPS Pathfinder ® Field The Toolkit can get a RINEX file which can be processed on a computer desktop by adjusting the coordinate.
This way I think it would be used Arc controls for the GPS but the objects themselves Trimble RINEX capturing and making a traditional processing of GPS accuracy. Later you can build an application that integrates data from gdb with the coordinates of the fixed point

Now I have to say, getting a hold of this functionality is a bit of a hassle, you have to fill out a form to be accepted to the Developer community I believe to even be able to try it out, and from what I understand there's a per installation fee they can charge you for your application (I don't know what it is.)  It turned me off to the whole thing even though we have a need for similar functionality.

Trimble said that in early 2012 would have a version for arcgis mobile but the Latin American representative commented that this possible integration will not be possible. I want to know the truth if there is another possibility to improve the coordinate captured

I recommend submitting questions/comments for Trimble's GPS Analyst extension for ArcGIS Desktop within ArcPad Forums as currently this is how GPS Analyst is supported by Esri and ArcPad specialists will be most familiar with the application and workflows. Just create new thread for your question.

I was able to improve the captured accuracy of ArcGIS Mobile by hooking into the State of Ohio's VRS(Virtual Reference Stations) provided by ODOT for free.

Using the 2.41 GPS Controller on the Trimble 6000 series, you can tap into VRS without needing any other extensions.

This allowed me to achieve 4 inch accuracy with ArcGIS Mobile. I was able to capture an existing point with ArcGIS Mobile and it was within 1cm of the same shot done with ArcPad.

The only catch is you need to have the output to NMEA turned on. Since Esri only reads and interprets raw NMEA strings.

Once we turned on that option inside the 6000 series it worked like a charm. Given some of the limitations involved with cartography at ArcGIS Mobile 10.0 we could not roll it into production but the concept worked so I know it is possible.

I am waiting to see some of the improvements supposedly coming in 10.1 for Mobile. I just ran into too many bugs and limitations but it certainly seems useful for simple project like attribute editing in its current form.

I think Trimble is doing some integration with ArcGIS Mobile starting at the 10.1 release. I would imagine they will unveil this at the Esri UC.
