System Check Error on Install: Database Connection Problem

During the second step of the system check (ArcGIS Mapping for SharePoint 2.0) I am getting a "SharePoint was unable to connect to the database" error.

I am attempting the install on a Server 2008 R2 machine.

Any thoughts?

Hi Corban,

at first verify you are not login in the sharepoint central administration.
Second - try run the Setup.exe as 'Run as administrator'.
Third (if still not resolved) - start the IIS Manager, go to Sites and start all sites except Default Web Site.

Then try again and run the Setup as Run as administrator.

I have run into the same issue several times and above steps helped me.
