It can be quite an effort to search documents such as "all CP work orders completed in past five years for distribution main within city blocks A, B, and C" or "Soil condition improvement or leak survey document for pipeline 123 from station 100.0+12.0 to 300+15.0". Combination of ArcGIS and SharePoint shall be capable of perform such a spatial/content search if documents are indexed properly. Also, It would be very useful to use ArcGIS as front end for navigation or to create selection set used as the input of subsquent document search.
