I am increasingly recommending my users with straightforward points-on-a-simple-map requirements to use ArcGIS Maps for Excel with much success.
One of the biggest pieces of feedback I get though is that the map can only take up a maximum of half the screen's real estate. For users blessed with the option of a large external monitor this isn't an issue, however most of my users are on laptops with 14" screen sizes. I have suggested things like minimizing Excel's menu bar when presenting etc to increase screen size and therefore map size as much as possible, however this is often not enough, especially for colleagues with additional visual needs.
What I would like is a button to expand a map to full screen in ArcGIS Maps for Excel.
It is possible to do this in ArcGIS Maps for SharePoint, if the option is enabled at map setup time: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/microsoft-365/latest/sharepoint/expand-your-map-to-full-screen.htm
In SharePoint the button appears like this:
I am wanting something similar in Excel.
Thank you so much for the feedback! Please stay tuned...in the very, very near future, we can fulfill this enhancement request! 😊
