Cannot add Geographic Data layer

Hi,

I am new to ArcGIS. I am getting the message "The layer was not added to the map. Make sure your data has valid location information" every time I am trying to add a geographic data layer through the "+Excel" button. Can someone help fix this issue?

Good Afternoon! Thank you for posting your question. What type of data do you have in your workbook? Coordinates, addresses, something else? Secondly, the more you organize and prepare the data before you add it to the map, the more accurate the map results will be. The reason for the error message you are getting is simply because our add-in does not detect location information. You may also want to check our online resources here to understand what location types are supported.
