ArcGIS for Excel 2023.2.0.0.23 Update

What is new in this version?

We are pleased to share the latest update for ArcGIS for Excel 2023.2.0.0.23, which brings you quality mapping improvements and bug fixes. This update will enhance your experience working with the Sort and filter functions.

Quality of Mapping Improvements

We have also improved the quality of the maps that you can create and display in Excel using ArcGIS for Excel 2023.2.0.0.23. Some of the improvements are:

  • Refined code for Excel events that support the filter functions.
  • Enhanced performance for inserting and deleting columns of a shared layer or map.
  • Improved error handling for Share Map or Layer operation failed 'Cannot read properties of null (reading 'toLocaleLowerCase').
  • Improved error handling for Filter sheet operation failed error message ‘Invalid SQL Expression.’

Bug Fixes

We have also fixed some bugs that were reported by our users or detected by our Product Engineering team. Some of the bug fixes are:

  • The sharing API endpoint fails when (multifactor authentication) is enforced on the Organization and prompts user for sign-in.
  • Incorrect "layer option" state with public feature layer for anonymous user.
  • BUG-000160812 'Bring layer updates to Excel' button reloads the data causing a reset to any previous formatting settings or spreadsheet adjustments using filters or sorting.
  • BUG-000160813 Sorting/ filtering the attribute table of a feature layer in the Excel spreadsheet and zooming to any selected feature via Map Data tools will not visualize the correct feature.
  • Fixed multiple issues with editing data, zooming to, and selecting the data's feature on the map after the user sorts any data layer in the Excel sheet.

We hope you enjoy this update and find it useful for your work. If you have any feedback, questions, or issues, please feel free to comment on this blog post.

Thank you for using ArcGIS for Excel. Until next time.
