ArcGIS for Excel 2023.1.0.0.17 – Updates and bug fixes

We are pleased to share the latest update for ArcGIS for Excel 2023.1.0.0.17 which has new features, bug fixes, and quality of mapping improvements.  

Updates should be seen at once. If you do not see the changes, you may need to refresh or close Excel and restart it.  

We are excited about these feature updates and hope you are too!

You can expect to see the following: 

Support for multi-field joins -  

Add Excel data and select your geographical data layer from ArcGIS Online.

                                                                           For this example, we are using County Boundaries 

 Simply match your field or + Add fields for multiple field selections and add to the map.

                                                  Select + Add fields to match additional fields, please note there is a 10-field max.  

Several bugs have been fixed, including:  

  • Fixed incorrect increases/decreases value when clicking up/down arrow in Style pane. 
  • Fixed BUG-000154577 - entries of the function builder are removed or converted to static text. 
  • Fixed BUG-000152427 - Excel layer fails to load when using a custom base map. 
  • Fixed transparency range changing when using a moving mouse in the Transparency and Styling pane. 
  • Fixed 50% progress fails to load layers when adding two or more layers. 
  • Fixed Function Builder button enabled after user signed out using the Reset Map workflow.  
  • Fixed incorrect disabled clustering when adding ArcGIS feature layer and a layer created using Excel data. 
  • Fixed BUG-000157801 - added features are referenced to the wrong coordinate system (WKID:4326) after publishing to portal for ArcGIS or ArcGIS Online.  
  • Fixed analysis endpoint not returning all required address fields for "Esri Atlanta" geocoder. 

Quality of Mapping: 

  • Support matching of two fields or more for layer joining between the Excel data and ArcGIS-hosted layers.  
  • Page not found error message using KO will redirect to the English URL when clicking Learn more, the "i" icon, and the Microsoft account integration dialog. 
  • Corrected vertical scroll bar overlap. 
  • Improved overall error messaging. 
  • RTL fixes, such as correct parathesis placement.  

Feature updates: 

  • ENH-000157499 - local installation file is available for individual entities who require deployment in a disconnected environment.
