When I try and add by url a layer by index values it does not work, can we get that capability added to A4A, ie ServerPathName/Water/MapServer/81 for a Well Pump. Currently we cannot add layers via an index value when adding via a URL.
Hello Ted,
Thank you for using ArcGIS for AutoCAD. The ability to add layers by their layerID has been available for quite some time. Would you mind providing more details (screen captures and errors) of this behavior you are seeing please? If any of the layers you are working with are public can you provide the URL(s) so we can test in-house too.
All the data is private, but we will redo the workflow and get screenshots.
ID for a Feature Service works as you explain. Success
ID for a Map Service does not work as expected
We have a public server you can access if you want to test this out.
Hi @TedCronin,
Thanks for posting this idea and for providing additional details.
For both map image and feature services, the indices point to feature layers.
The Add data by URL dialog can be used to add web feature layers to drawings, including those containing "MapServer" in the URL.
For example, using the latest version (435) of ArcGIS for AutoCAD and the publicly available service:
https://mapriverside.riversideca.gov/server/rest/services/Cadastral/Cadastral_Public/MapServer/5
Can be used to add point features to the drawing from the 5th index, Address_Pt feature layer (all 90,000+ of them!).
Please let us know if this info helps to resolve the Ideas post--happy to keep the correspondence going if needed!
