We have a Trimble R2 GPS receiver and we use Field Maps to collect sub-inch points with in the field. This has worked like a champ for years, but just recently we are having accuracy issues when in Field Maps. Before we could take points with about 1 inch of accuracy, where as now when we are in Field Maps, it can't get below 1 foot. If we open Trimble Mobile Manager it can get to that sub-inch accuracy, but as soon as we switch to Field Maps it jumps to 1-4 foot accuracy. I've noticed that when I connect to Trimble Mobile Manager after trying in Field Maps, it's only showing connections to the GPS and SBAS constellations, but eventually in TMM it will find the other constellations and get to sub-inch accuracy. Has anyone else come across this issue?
Hi @LRoberts_RDM ,
Make sure you are not connected to the receiver in TMM when you attempt to connect in Field Maps. I assume you have set the Configuration details in TMM already if you are getting the expected accuracy there. When you have a map open in Field Maps and you are connected to the R2, what do you see for Fix Type in the GPS details? If you wait for a bit, does this Fix Type value ever change? Also, let me know what mobile device you are using Field Maps on.
