Hello Community,
I have scoured these pages for an answer, but this may be something different.
I have an offline-enabled map with an offline-enabled, hosted feature layer I want to use to collect point data using Field Maps in a remote area. When I go offline and attempt to collect/submit a point, I get the error, Unable to Submit: The internet connection appears to be offline.
Perhaps related, I generated the Points and Areas layer from an Esri template in AGOL. ( I have used this template before with success, in another map that functions properly offline). In Field Maps Designer, Map Viewer Classic, I then re-labeled two of the Categories from "Category 1" and "Category 2" to "Artichoke Thistle" and "Purple Star Thistle", two of the most commonly encountered types of plant I want to map, then saved the layer, and the map.
I loaded the map on my iPad and downloaded the Map Area. But, on my iPad, the layer does not show the new names, instead showing "Category 1".
I have done all the troubleshooting I know how to do (screenshots below). This includes:
1. Completely rebuilding the base map by generating it in ArcPro and sharing it as a Web Map.
2. Deleting the troublesome layer and rebuilding it in AGOL, saving it as a new one, then adding it to the map with Field Maps Designer
3. Ensuring I have a hosted layer that is editable and sync-enabled
4. Ensuring the map is in Offline mode
5. Double-checking that Map Areas are updated
Your help is greatly appreciated. I hope someone here has had this issue and been able to resolve it.

Hey, I just noticed another thing.
On my iPad, the map is not listed as not "On Device". So it doesn't show up as an option to load when I'm offline. It is listed under "My Maps" when connected to WiFi. When I turn WiFi off I can still see it as the "Current" map. Could this be the issue? How can I get this map to be "On Device'?
Update: I decided to, yet again, ?why not try one more time?, refresh the maps on my iPad by pulling down with three fingers. The Map is now listed under On Device. I turned WiFi off and just successfully submitted a point!! The layer still does not register my Category renaming. An annoyance, but workable as long as e.g., I remember to use Category 1 only for Artichoke Thistle.
Frustrating though, that I don't know why Submit started working. Seems totally random??
