Hey all,

Enterprise 11.3 - Most updated Field Maps

We've recently found ourselves in a problem where our field maps will continually pop up with this error:

CodyPatterson_0-1752232482835.png

Pressing Keep Current Values will do everything correctly, change the features construction status to completed and symbology to green, but pressing Reset to Default Values will change the fiber count to 12? Very confusing, and even more confusing to the less tech savvy outside crew. Here are some screenshots:

This here is correct - I pressed "Keep Current Values":

This here is incorrect - I pressed "Reset to Default Values":

This post was unfortunately not helpful here: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-field-maps-questions/quot-changing-feature-type-quot-pop-up-in-...

As you can see, pressing the Reset to Default Values will change the uneditable Cable Size to 12 Fiber instead of leaving it at 24 Fiber, why is this happening and what can we do to prevent it?

Cody

Hi @CodyPatterson .

It looks like you are using Feature Templates, which are set up prior to data collection and each template has default values, which is why you are asked if you want to keep current values (the data you entered) or reset to default values. You may want to consult with the map author and let them know that you need some additional editing capabilities or maybe they can add some additional templates. Here is some documentation with more information. Please let me know if you have any additional questions

Hey @KerriRasmussen

This is exactly what is happening! Thank you for the response, the only unfortunate thing is that we'll have to completely redo the map, hundreds of symbology sets, and reconfigure the maps and data sources, but at least there's a way to solve this!

The map author and I are unable to modify the template online or remove any of the defaults, it states neither of us have permission, maybe in a future update this could be changed to allow the removal of these as they are seemingly just a nuisance if incidentally added!

Thank you again!

Cody
