Is ArcGIS Field Maps replacing Collector for ArcGIS?

I was wondering this as well a while back. The simple answer is no, they will continue to support it but with no future plans to upgrade it. You can read more towards the end of this article: Introducing ArcGIS Field Map

As mentioned above, YES, Field Maps is replacing Collector and we have announced deprecation plans for the end of next year for the iOS and Android apps.

I was never a heavy Collector user, but I've seen virtually no difference between it and Field Maps. FM just has more features, and better GPS location, as far as I can tell.
