We are currently implementing the Field Maps application at TC Energy for our Aviation department and we need an enhancement:

Enhancement Request Description: The pilots have indicated that the current GPS location symbol "Blue dot" in Field Maps doesn't represent a true indicator of where they are positioned and in what direction they are facing or moving. For Aviation pilots using the Field Maps application, location and direction are very important. They are looking to have the symbol changed to an arrow so it reflects the direction they are flying in.

The reason the pilots don’t see the current symbol well in the cockpit is because of the glare inside the cockpit when they fly.

Reference the GPS location symbol in QuickCapture. The Quickcapture GPS location symbol changes to an arrow when the aircraft or user is moving, which works for the pilots.

This enhancement request is to change the GPS location symbol in Field Maps to an arrow pointing in the direction of where the user is moving. Same feature as QuickCapture.

See screenshots for Quickcapture and Field Maps.

From Kevin (One of our Pilot): A GPS position is currently a dot, an arrow, aircraft, or helicopter would be needed, a dot doesn't give you any idea of direction of travel. Arrow currently used on VIPER (QuickCapture) works great.
