Include voice to text for comments while collecting data in Field Maps. Geologists are working in hot isolated areas and takes time to type long comments or notes. Voice to Text on a form would be very helpful and save time.
Already there if mobile device supports that. There are few ways to do this.
I have no idea what happens in weak internet connections etc. but at least in office tests this has been working for a long while. To me this request came from sewer installation guys whose comment was that writing a text with freezing fingers is hard.
Basically they nowdays typically make video messages with some view to target and explain the issue background. At office someone in front of proper computer just transcript this message to values in attribute fields.
I have no idea is this a Field Maps feature or just a generic mobile device feature but I think it does the requested thing. At least in my use case it does and they constantly use it in daily basis.
I don't know about in Field Maps, but in Survey123 you can speak into the mic and it will use AI to analyze your voice clip and fill out the appropriate portions of the Surevy123 form (I saw this demoed at the 2025 ESRI IMGIS).

Here is a quick video on how to enable voice to text for ArcGIS Field Maps for both IOS and Android.
