How to "break up" a shapefile when there are too many points

I am trying to add a shapefile to a map. It has over 1000 points. I would like to know the easiest/fastest way to break it up into two shapefiles so they may be displayed. I don't know code... so the easiest way for me would be by using tools already built into the arcgis toolbox. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you able to successfully load the shapefile in ArcMap?

Assuming that your shapefile only contains a few 1000 features then the easiest approach is just to select batches of features in ArcMap and export just the selected features - see screenshots.
