does sharing an embedded map remove interactive capability?

If I embed a map to share publicly on our website, will the interactive find places function still work?  In other words, I have created a map which contains the Bing streets as the Base Layer with our sanitation routes overlayed.  If I share the map through our website, will the public be able to enter their address and see a zoomed in area around where they live?

Hi,
When you embed a map, there is no provision to allow users to search by address.  Users will only be able to navigate around the map or view a presentation. Under the Share option in the ArcGIS.com map viewer there are also a number of pre-built application templates - I've had a look through these but I can't see any that provide the ability to search by address.

It looks like you need to use a custom solution using one of the web API's or create an application using the ArcGIS viewer for flex which doesn't have to involve any programming.
