shared .nmf does not persist connections to secure GIS Server services

I created a nmf to share with co workers that includes a connection to a secure ArcGIS Server service providing aerial photography to our agency.

I copied the .nmf to another location on the network, but when I re-open it, or anyone else opens it, the GIS Server connection is broken and has to be reset.

We also want to deploy the service connection through a file, versus giving everyone the user name and password.  there are over 1000 users.

In desktop, there is a place where you can put your connection files so that Map and Catalog just see it.

Is there something similar in ArcGIS Explorer?  or a way to persist the connection when sharing the .nmf?

thanks -

Mel,

You can set this up within the map properties dialog - see http://webhelp.esri.com/arcgisexplorer/1200//en/map_properties_data_access.htm#authentication for more information.
