I have a contour line I have generated and I am only interested in a certain elevation and lower (let's call it 500m and below). I have vegetation polygons that I want to overlay this contour and isolate only the polygons that intersect at 500m or below. When I do this I have used the Features to Polygon Tool to generate new polygons that are 500m and below HOWEVER, it generates polygons on either side of the contour line, so above and below 500m. How do I only get below the 500m mark?? Is there a better process?
Another way I tried was to convert the DEM to vector and highlighted the polygons 500m and below and then I could at least have everything in the same geometry. This wokred ok except the pixel squares were retained in the vector DEM and there are tons on tiny square pixel polygons.
