Nothing appears in data frame; wrong .net framework?

Hello,
I have installed ArcGIS Explorer Desktop on my computer and the program opens fine.  The ribbon and contents sidebar both appear.  However, nothing shows up in the data frame (screenshot attached).  When I try to add content from an ArcGIS layer, the layer is listed in the contents sidebar but still nothing is in the data frame.  If I try to add content from ArcGIS online, the program crashes after attempting to open a map.

One possible explanation is that I have microsoft .net framework 4 installed on my computer.  Does this fulfill the requirement for having microsoft .net framework 3.5 service pack 1, or do I need to install this on my computer?

Thanks,
Brandon Smith

My ArcGIS Explorer does the same thing on my laptop.  Have you found a solution?  The strange thing is that when I dock my laptop to use dual monitors, Explorer will work normally on one of them but not the other.  I can actually drag ArcGIS Explorer from one monitor to the other and it will start working normally, then drag it back and it doesn't work.  This is a work around for when I am in the office, but I still can't use Explorer just on my laptop when it is undocked.

Looks like it is a graphics card issue.

Related to a crash due while adding content from ArcGIS Online - AGX 1500 does not support new map items format from ArcGIS Online yet. So this is a known issue.

I just installed ArcGIS Explorer and i am facing the same problem. Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

The online version of ArcGIS Explorer fine on my machine, and I also have ArcInfo on my machine and it, too, works fine! So, I do not think it is a graphics card issue!

ArcInfo uses different framework, therefore if ArcInfo runs, it does not mean that ArcGIS Explorer will run too. I'd suggest updating your graphics card. If that does not help - let us know your graphic card name and model, we'd add it to the problematic graphic cards list.
