Im new to gis and im trying to make a map to show land ownership for a few organizations that own quite a bit in my area.

how would i go about making a new layer to show this?

The data i have is from a state deed database broken down to section-township-range

I do have a file that shows all the sections of land throughout my state and i can individually look up each piece of land but i need to make a map representing 1000s of acres but im not sure how to manipulate this

this is kind of what i am working with you can see i can obviously select individual plots of land, but my purpose is to represent larger areas. (many sections)

Hi,

You might wish to post your question to the ArcMap forum; that program can do what you wish. This is for ArcGIS Explorer, which could also do what you want. But since you're working in ArcMap, that would be the best place for your question. ~Ellen
