I am setting up an ArcGIS Explorer project (build 10.0.1500) to allow users across the business to view our data. I have created layer files in ArcGIS 10 with symbology, display range etc linking to an SDE database. When I open the ArcGIS Explorer project on my PC, everything looks fine.

However, when I open the ArcGIS Explorer project on a PC that does not have ArcGIS 10 installed, the point symbols I have selected (green square, yellow circle, red triangle) do not appear. The labels come through, and display at the range they have been set to, but there are no point symbols.

Thank you for your help.

The machines that are not displaying the symbols properly may need to have the Expansion pack for fonts installed. http://resources.arcgis.com/content/arcgis-explorer/1500/download

This is especially true if you symbols are made up of characters from esri fonts.

as an added tip, if you have 3D analyst.   Using 3D markersymbols (even when authoring in arcmap) that reference .png files work best for symbolizing points.
