Keep Losing SDE connection between sessions.

I have ArcGIS Explorer 1500 (2.0.0.1500).  I've installed the Data Access Expansion Pack.  I've made connection to my company's secure SDE GIS database and have added layers from it to a project.  The layers appear and I'm able to set the appearances, etc.  Then, if I save the project and re-open it later, all the layers I added in the last session are broken in the new session. So, I repair them, do my work and save the project again.  Then, every time I open it again later, the layers are all broken again.  Also, when I open the ArcGIS Explorer Options dialogue box, go to Resources, click on the Expansion Packs button, nothing appears in the window as having been installed.  But still I can repair the layers manually. It seems that my access settings for the the SDE database keep getting lost between sessions.  I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

I have the exact same problem. Have you found any solutions?

I don't have a SQL/SDE instance to test this on, but my guess is that ESRI doesn't want to store the connection information in the ArcGIS Explorer map file for security reasons. In the past, I've had success with creating a connection file in ArcCatalog (.sde file extension), bringing the data into ArcMap using that connection file and saving symbology to a layer file, and bringing that layer file into my ArcGIS Explorer map. Of course, then it's your responsibility to make sure the connection file is in a secure place if it has a username and password stored in it.

HI Darrel and Dan,

It looks like you are running into NIM063306 "SDE credentials are not saved in ArcGIS Explorer 1500 nmf documents.".  I would suggest logging a call with Support to be added to the NIM.
