hill shade rendering is bugged

I've created a DEM that's classed per 1000 meters. I've also displayed it as a hillshade. when I export it as a layer package to ArcGIS Explorer (Build 1750) the area around the cliff doesn't render properly.

I am not sure what could be causing the problem.

Do you see the problem in both 2D and 3D?

Did you set the properties for the layer in ArcMap?
What were the properties that you set?

Could you share the package or a package that shows the problem on ArcGIS.com?

I tried uploading a sample of it which is 3MB, the upload manager says 10 MB but returns an error that its too large. sigh.......
