Hello! We maintain two layer files for our department's consumption, both point to the same Oracle data and both were created from an ArcMap Query Layer. One is for Oracle Client 10 users, the other for Oracle Client 11 users. These two layers have served us well, but inexplicably, today we're getting a "Failed to add Layer Package(s), Invalid File" error. But this error occurs only in ArcGIS Explorer; ArcMap and ArcReader consume them with no problem. Where should I look for the cause/solution? Thank you!
Well, I will keep this post up here in the hopes that it will help someone else down the road. I finally remembered, though, that ArcGIS Explorer cannot consume Query Layers, though the other two can. I have never known why, though, so if you have the answer, I would love to know!
