That is for ArcExplorer Java Edition for Education- you won't be able to install this... That is an old legacy version, but the new version is ArcGIS Explorer Desktop. You can download it here as long as you have the Microsoft .NET framework 3.5 SP1 installed. You can also check the other system requirements here.

Can you find it at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Explorer\bin\E3.exe? If you don't have a 64 bit machine, then it should be C:\Program Files\Explorer\bin\E3.exe

Hi Ron,

There is no .exe in that location for you? Perhaps when it was installed on your machine, a different location was specified on the "Destination Folder" page. By default it should go to C:\Program Files\Explorer.

I specified no different folder.
Default is /esri; not /explorer!
I have a folder C:/esri/aejee/ but there is no .exe in it.
??!!

Are you looking for the executable for ArcGIS Explorer Desktop or ArcGIS for Desktop?

Hi Ron,

Which build of Explorer Desktop did you install?  Build 1750?  Or the Beta release of build 2012?

If you installed the Beta release of Explorer Desktop build 2012, you would have been prompted to indicate whether you wanted to install Explorer for A) all the users on your computer or B) only your user account.  If you chose the second option and installed Explorer for your user only, the Explorer files would be located in your user account's location.

For example, for my user - lind6207 - I find the Explorer executable at "C:\Users\lind6207\Explorer (x86)\bin\E3.exe."  On Windows XP the location would be "C:\Documents and Settings\Users\lind6207\Explorer (x86)\bin\E3.exe".

Regards,
Lindsay

Hi Lindsay,
This is the link I used from your site.

Windows

Download ArcExplorer??Java Edition for Education Windows (aejee_232_windows.zip)
File Size: 113 MB

It should give me:
ArcExplorer®??Java ? Edition for Education v2.3.2.

I don't know what the answer on your question is.

Ron

What operating system are you using, Ron? The system requirements for the ArcExplorer Java edition specify Windows XP, and not Vista or 7.
