Search widget and ESRI World Geocoder - constrain search within map

When using ESRI World Geocoder in the search widget, is there a way to constrain the search to the map extent like in Instant Apps?

This feature is not currently supported, but is planned to be added.

@ShengdiZhang Where is that documented? Cause I was trying to find that information and must not have been looking in the right place

note I did find it buried in the 17.1 notes:

use find and look for 'Search Widget'.

If you click on Search Widget it takes you to a page where it has this section:

I have a feeling this is a feature that some screen shots might help with clarity on use.  (Its only in ArcGIS Online at the moment though, presuming June 2025 release of AGE may have it)

(I might have ended up answering my own question inline, but as I've seen this question elsewhere thought it would be helpful to add my findings)
