Runtime data editing promised in June 2024 update?

Hello, we would like to enable users of an Experience Builder App  to be able to add their own AGOL data in either via Search or URL, and then be able to edit that data. As far as I understand it this is now meant to be possible since the June 2024 update, but I see no options in my Experience builder to enable this setting.

Edit widget—ArcGIS Experience Builder | Documentation (see final bullet point in page just before the highlighted note at end)

This is what the options are supposed to look like according to the documentation about the June 2024 release.

However, on the Experience Builder I am using, there don't appear to be any "General" settings (see attached image).

The strange thing is that other developments that only became available in the June 2024 release are working fine on my version (e.g. ability to filter raster mosaics by attribute), which would suggest that I am, at least using the correct version of ExB.

Any help would be gratefully received!

Many thanks

I have solved the problem. It seems that the options are available, but only if you already have some layers selected for editing already.

This is not ideal, as I don't want any of our organisation's layers to be exposed as being editable. I only want people to be able to edit their own layers in runtime, but at least I know now what the problem is 🙂

That would seem to make sense with the custom widget work I've done.  If you don't have an appropriate source of the initial data, or target for where the update is occurring it would be impossible for the app to do anything with an edit or creation.

I do think you could edit some in table fields, if editing was enabled, but this isn't the same as the Edit Widget I realize.

(I will say, that Many to Many relationships might not be as easy to edit or create unless something in the update changed that.)
