I am working on an experience builder dev edition application that is accessible as an application with credentials through my portal. I set up a URL within a dashboard list that opens this exp builder app, selects the feature, and zooms to it in the app. I am having an issue where the Near Me widget is triggered when this selection and zoom occurs. I cannot figure out what is triggering it. When I select the same feature in a List widget I have in the app, and it generates the same exact URL as the URL Parameter uses, but doesn't trigger the Near Me Widget. Is this a bug? Or is there something I'm overlooking? The Near Me widget shouldn't be able to be triggered through any means other than opening it up and running it based on a location. I've disabled all of the "Set Location" actions within the map and widgets.
Thank you!
Hi @SarahW2799,
Unfortunately, this behaviour is most likely related to an existing bug: BUG-000178835. This bug specifically relates to layer search results, but when the page is refreshed after viewing a layer search result (or selecting a feature) the URL parameters are maintained, which causes the Near Me widget to activate upon loading the webpage, just like in your case.
The best workaround for the time being until this bug is addressed would be to not use these URL parameters in your app if this works for your use case. However, we completely understand that this is not ideal and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this causes.
If you have any further questions or concerns about this problem, I strongly suggest you reach out to Esri Technical Support or your local Distributor's support channels for further assistance.

Hi @SarahW2799 ,
It is an expected behavior when URL parameter is being used with Near Me, when there is a feature selection and Near Me widget, it activates the url parameter in NM and NM runs automatically. However, we are aware of the downside of this implementation and working on adding a configuration parameter , once this is available, Near Me will run when this setting will be enabled. We are hoping to release this in February 2026, if everything goes well.
Thank you.
