Map select tool - maximum selection of 300?

Hello everyone, I have activated the select tool of the map. There are in total around 1000 features in the map, but i can only select a maximum of 300 features each time. Can I delete or increase the maximum selection somehow?

Run into similar problem, can't select all US counties.
