Location Filter Widget does not Refresh Cluster Rendering after AGOL Update

Hi, after the recent AGOL update, I have noticed that cluster rendering is not properly rendering with changes to a Filter Widget using location-based filters with a Zoom to Map action.

  • When a location is selected from the Filter Widget, the map zooms in to show the extent of filtered data  and rendering for the cluster layer is usually refreshed properly (sometimes it doesn't work)
  • When the filter is set back to ALL, the map zooms out to show full extent of data and cluster rendering is not refreshed properly (It works properly half of the time)
  • Manually panning or zooming in / out refreshes cluster rendering properly

  • I am seeing wildly inconsistent results with cluster rendering with using a Filter Widget with a Zoom to Map Action after the Recent AGOL update
  • Cluster rendering should be refreshed at the end of a 'zoom to' transition when filters are changed.
  • Cluster rendering should be refreshed whenever the map extent changes?
    • This is an issue that was introduced with the new AGOL update.

Video showing cluster rendering issue

The Montana SVOR Search Application is a critical service that was created with Experience Builder, and allows citizens to view different categories of offenders for different spatial areas. It is extremely important that this functions in a consistent and expected way.

This application is connected to a map where cluster rendering is implemented for the primary data layer. After the recent AGOL update, changing location filters is not refreshing the cluster data properly and has introduced highly inconsistent behavior.

To reproduce this issue with this application:

  1. Open the Montana SVOR application
  2. Expand "Filter Location" Accordion
  3. Select a location from City, County or Zip Code filters
  4. Reset selected location filter to All
  5. Repeat steps 3-4 if you do not see an issue with cluster rendering. It works properly about half the time.
  6. See image below for example of rendering when a location filter is reset

Thank you for suggestions about how to resolve this issue.

This issue was able to be reproduced by Esri Staff and has been submitted as BUG-000183208

"In ArcGIS Experience Builder, using the Filter widget with a clustering-enabled web map will cause clustering to not update based on zoom level or disappear entirely, against the behavior"
