Hide points by default and use Filter Widget to show

Hello,

I am trying to prep for the eventual discontinuation of WAB, and am exploring EB. While I try to recreate things, I am seeing that EB handles layers differently than WAB, and am wondering if there is a workaround.

Scenarios

1) WAB: Map loads empty. Toggling a filter shows or hides those points.

2) EB (same set-up as WAB): Map loads empty. Toggling a filter does nothing.

3) EB (works but not a resonable solution): Map loads showing all points. Toggling a filter drills down to that level.

Set-up

For scenarios 1 and 2:

  • I have a web map with a point layer
  • The points are hidden by default (see image below)

  • In WAB, I have a Filter widget with multiple simple filters (see image below).

For scenario 3:

  • Same as 1 and 2, but I checked the layer 'on' for the web map.

Can I get the functionality I had in WAB?

The current behavior for visibility does vary from WAB. Maybe the following workaround will help with your scenario?
