Experience Builder - Print Function does not print rotated maps?

Hello,

I'm trying to add the "print" widget to a WebApp in Experience Builder that will print the current map view, regardless of any rotation applied.

It seems the print function only works correctly when the map is aligned to true north (up), south (down), etc. Our maps are usually rotated -24.5 degrees to ensure the campus layout is horizontal, fitting neatly on a tabloid-sized print. However, when I use the print tool in the WebApp, the basemap appears to revert to no rotation, while the thematic layers remain rotated, resulting in a distorted export.

Has anyone encountered this issue or know how to resolve it?

Example export below:

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @Nicholas_Burns ,

I cannot reproduce this bug. I'm not sure if this is related to the basemap, would you mind sharing your web map with me?

Many thanks,

Shengdi

Hi Shengdi,

Good morning—and apologies for the delayed reply. I never received a notification for this message and got caught up with other tasks.

Here’s an example viewer where I’m encountering the issue:

When selecting the Aerial Image basemap, the export functions as expected. However, exporting with any of our custom basemaps results in a glitch. Based on your earlier note, I think you may be right that the basemap itself is the issue.

Do you have any idea why this might be happening, and if so, any recommendations for mitigating it so that exports render correctly when using our basemaps?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,
Nick

Hi Nick,

I've talked to the relevant team, and they have confirmed that this is a known bug in the print service. As a workaround, you can turn off the effects set on the basemap; then, the export should work properly.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

Shengdi
