Experience Builder Map is slowed down after turning on Map Layers?

Hi,

I'm experiencing a curious slow down in my Experience App. The app displays private information so I can not share it for testing but I've managed to isolate the cause to the 'Map Layers' widget.

If I launch the map with the 'Map Layer's automatically open - the map is consistently slow, at almost a crawl.

If I launch the map with the 'Map Layers' turned off - the map runs quickly and all interactions are snappy. Until I open the map layers tab, at which point the map becomes sluggish and slow. This slowness does not go away when the map layers is closed.

Has anyone noticed this? Would be good to get a fix asap.

Thanks,

TC

Notably - I've now done some further troubleshooting within the Map Layers widget.

The problem persisted until I had turned off all the optional extras and table actions.

I then turned on the toggle layer visibility again, but this time left the 'use tick boxes' off - and now the map runs fine both with the map layers widget open and not.

So it seems to me that the rendering issue is related to some combination or a particular 'Map Layers' optional extra.

Hope this gets fixed quickly! My app is fine as is with this solution as my users don't require in-depth querying but this is clearly a significant issue.

Yep.  I agree that the drawing of the Layers from within the Layers Widget is slowed down tremendously when the new options are turned on(Transparency, Legend).

which is really really too bad,  because those new options are what we've all been asking for,  and they work great in theory.  but the drawing of the Layers is sooo comprimised that I cannot use them.   Will I need to attempt another fresh JavascriptAPI build because of this?? not a timely option.  ESRI please attempt to fix these drawing issues.  as others have mentioned ExB will be 'rendered' useless to us if these performance issues aren't fixed.

@TNC I believe we handled the Map Layers performance about 2-3 AGOL releases ago. Which environment are you in?

Hi @TonghuiMing - I am using the ArcGIS Online Experience Builder to create a 'Foldable' design in an Edge Browser on a Windows OS - I'm not sure if I can identify what edition of AGOL is being loaded but I would assume it's the most current one?

@TNC If that's the AGOL then it should be the latest version. In case the performance issues are usually not easy to pinpoint, and sometimes with specific data, I suggest you reach out to Esri Support if you can steadily repro the problem, and they can build a steady environment. Thanks.

Hi @TonghuiMing.     nope,  the drawing issues from within the Map Layers widget have not been addressed. Please see my reply to original post.   the Feature Service(MapViewer) drawing is basically unuseable when the new Transparency and Legend options are added to the Layers.   Please address this issue.  thankyou.

*test the performance issue by turning on the Transparency and Legend options under the Layers widget.
