I have a challenge I’m facing with the Experience Builder Filter widget. The Web Experience page includes 1 Map and 3 Chart widgets: the Map widget needs to be connected to the Timeline widget to display changes over time, while the Chart widgets should not filter by time. Given this, I’m currently connecting the same Web Map twice in the Web Experience: The Map widget is connected to the first copy (which all changes with the Timeline widget) while the Charts widgets are connected to the layer/tables within the second copy of the same Web Map (given they need to have a different data source). The Chart widgets connect to different Views of the data in the Web Map, where those Views perform additional filters (e.g. filtering the data by specific year or species).
I have 2 goals for the Filter widget once a user selects a country: 1) filter all data (within the map and charts) by the country and 2) have the map to zoom to country. For goal #1, I see two options on how to do this in the filter widget: a) use a filter “group” to connect all data/views across both Web Map copies and b) connect one Web Map to the Fitler widget, then connect/filter the other data sources/views through the “Actions” pane. For both options, I would think that I could configure the map to Zoom within the “Actions” pane, which appears to be the case. However, when doing this with option “a”, the Zoom action doesn’t seem to work (although it does for option “b”). I’d like to use option “a” because my dataset is large, and I see there is a warning for a data limitation when using the “Actions” option when the data exceeds 1,000 records (meaning option “b” would not perform correctly with my dataset).
Does anyone know whether the lack of Zooming through the “Action” pane within option “a” may be a bug, or is this a known limitation that could be caused by something in my configuration?
