Hi How do you deactivate the Edit Widget. Someone mentioned using the container widget but this doesn't work. Can you please add a deactivate option in its settings when moving to other widgets. Our users are having a lot of issues with this issue. Using latest version.

I would definitely post this to the ideas forum!

I personally create different pages or EXB for editing vs viewing so that it doesn't get messed up.

Hi @RodWoodford , what is your workflow?

In the latest update of Experience Builder in ArcGIS Online (available since yesterday), the Edit widget should not remain active when it's hidden or closed (e.g., if it's placed inside a Widget Controller, or hidden inside a Sidebar). Is this the functionality you are looking for?

Hi @AlixVezina , Thanks for the fast response I'll give this ago. Maybe ESRI should on all insert panels where multiple widgets could be used for tabbing, add a function like a tick box to close a widget when moving from one widget tab to another.

I'm using the Grid Layout widget with one Map and one Grid that has multiple Widgets within, eg Edit, Print, Add Data, Map layers, Legend, Search etc to maximize map space. This issue is the Edit widget does not deactivate when moving between the tabs to other widgets. Our staff like this style of App as it only shows the Map with one panel containing multiple tabbed widgets.

@RodWoodford I've been testing this on my end and cannot seem to reproduce the issue where the Edit widget does not de-activate. Please, would you be able to send some screenshots or a recording of the behavior in your app? Thanks!

Hi Alex,

I'm using EXBD 1.17 in our Enterprise. See screen shot of an App using the grid layout widget below where I've moved from the edit widget tab after editing and closing my saved feature edits to the Legend widget tab as an example. If I click on the feature in the map view the edit vertices become active again even though I've moved away from the edit widget tab. This shouldn't happen in any of the layouts available in EXB.  The same issue happens if you have popups active and your not viewing the edit widget tab. It appears the Edit widgets has no closure its active in the background no matter what you do with other widgets. We never had this issue with WABD smart editor in any of the available layouts, etc. Hope this helps.

@RodWoodford Thanks for specifying which version of Experience Builder you are using. This issue exists in the developer edition version 1.17, but it will be fixed in 1.18.

If you are able to upgrade your apps to 1.18 once the version is released that should resolve the issue.

1.18 is planned to be released around July 23rd.
