Draw Widget Tooltip Issue

I recently enabled the Tooltip feature on the draw widget within my experience.  We have noticed that sometimes the unit of measurement displayed in the Tooltip box is in feet and sometimes it is in meters.  For example, on my computer right now it shows feet, but on my coworkers computer it shows meters.  Is there a reason for this that I'm not seeing?  And is it possible to change the unit of measurement for the Tooltip box?

I wonder if they're opening the Web Experience through their ArcGIS Online content and some account-based preferences for Metric/imperial are then being applied (head and shoulder icon in top-right next to username) -> 'My Settings'.

@DavidPike I think you cracked it.  When I was looking at the site I was logged into arcgis online and my account is set to US Standard.  My coworker wasn't logged in and it showed metric.  Problem now is my userbase is the public and I'm guessing 99% of them don't have arcgis online accounts.  And I'm not sure there's a way to change it for users accessing the site without an account.

Hi @MattCashen

I noticed in your widget there is an option to select the unit of measurement as when I used the tool it was in km

@DanielFox1  Hi Daniel.  As I mentioned above I think David figured out what was happening.  The setting you are referring to only applies when a drawing is completed.  So if you set it to Kilometers it will show the measurement length in kilometers on the map after you finish your drawing.  This setting doesn't apply to the gray tooltip box that moves around with your cursor.  And this probably should be changed because it is a confusing setup for these two things to not be related.

Hi everyone, thank you for your feedback on the new tooltip feature. You're right about the tooltip unit – it follows the unit setting from your online account. For anonymous users, the unit will default to their OS settings.

Regarding the graphic measurement label unit, I'd love to hear your thoughts. What are your expectations for it? Would you prefer the unit to always match your selection, or would you prefer an auto-adjusting group (e.g., yd/ft/mi), where the units change automatically as the graphic size increases?

Hi @Shen_Zhang

Really I don't mind that the graphic automatically changes as the measurement gets bigger. It would just be great if the user could set what the measurement units are.  Like I mentioned in my earlier post, the vast majority of my users will be anonymous.  But the vast majority will also want things measured in feet as opposed to meters.  So if they could change this within the tool that would be great.

Somewhat related, but do you have plans to add any of these features to the actual measure widget?  Right now the functionality of that tool is pretty limited as you can't even draw more than one line at a time.  But most of my users are going to go to the measure widget before the draw widget if they're wanting to measure out lines.

We have heard some users asking about similar requests for multi-measurement enhancement. This is currently under research, we'll keep you posted on the progress.

@Shen_ZhangI would love to be able to set the unit in settings. I work for a local government and my users will never use meters.
