Near Me measurements in the Input draw tools
I'm creating an incident training tool for our Emergency Preparedness group. The Near Me widget is a good tool for this, but it could be great! My programs love that they can search by a radius and export a file with affected facilities, but adding more detail orientated operations to Near Me would make it even better.
When drawing a line segment, or a polygon segment/area using the Near Me tool it would be fantastic if there was a way to know how long your segment or how big your polygon is. The draw widget has this functionality if you enable tooltips. My current solution is including two tools, encouraging folks to use draw and then near me to trace the line/poly, but what if it could be one tool?
In the Near Me configuration, then Analysis Settings, a toggle for add measurement could be added to the Inputs area that expands.
If measurements were included in Near Me, we could include fewer widgets for a cleaner interface, have less training/instruction for the end user, and build an environment that allows for quicker response.
