The Experience Builder Draw widget does not provide much value as it is. It misses the ability export, import and sharing sketches. The widget needs the ability to export a KML/JSON/SHP containing the Draw sketches and import that file on another Experience Builder App.

It would be very usefull as well if it was possible to share the Draw sketches with the app as a link, for example via an URL parameter thar reffers an ID of a file in a Cloud Storage solution that keeps the file for a limited period of time. This is very user-friendly.

Example of export, import and sharing of sketches by file and URL: https://kommunekart.com/  (Meny -> Tegn i kart and Del kart).

The expected audience does not have GIS Knowledge and does not have Named User licenses.

This idea is as well submited to ESRI as an enhancement request: ENH-000168545: Implement export, import and sharing of sketches on the Experience Builder Draw widget

This is the frustrating part about the forced move from WebApp Builder (WAB). Experience Builder at times feels like a step backwards in features and capabilities that we used to have with WAB.

The import & export drawings feature is out in Feb 2026 ArcGIS Online release: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/experience-builder/latest/configure-widgets/draw-widget.htm#:~:text=Append....

When will this functionality be available for ArcGIS Enterprise ?

Shen_Zhang

@LenBundra2, it will be included in the Q4 portal release

@Shen_Zhang Will other data formats like KML be added?

Shen_Zhang

@Thomas1 No, only the exported graphics in a JSON format are supported at the moment.

@Shen_Zhang It's extremely disappointing that graphics are only exportable in a json format that will only work within ExB. This makes interoperability challenging and the tool is much less useful if you can't easily open up the drawing exports in other GIS software. Are there any plans to support other formats in the future?
