Experiences can be configured to automate usual workflows when they are well defined, but it's often complicated to define a unique workflow for all users.

If buttons could launch actions (message action or data action) in the app, we could do things such as:

  • Open a "side bar" containing an edit widget from a button in a form.
  • Set a "zoom to" action inside a list.
  • Have a "Define Location" button to trigger an analysis in the Near widget.
  • Include an "export to CSV" button instead of the action behind the data action menu.

I believe this would really upgrade the user experience!

Great idea!

@DavidL Thanks for the ideas. The Button widget already supports click actions, such as open Widget Controller, toggle Sidebar, etc.:

You can configure it inside the Button widget > Action > Button click action panel.

We will keep a note and evaluate the other three. Thanks.
