Hi, is there anyway to change the units on the Draw widget tool tips? It seems like it defaults to meters and I need feet....
I would also like to recommend adding a freehand draw tool to the Draw widget. This would be nice to have and many users would agree.
thanks
@ClintOffutt, I don't think there is a way to set the default, but you can check off the ones you don't want in the configuration settings and turning on Enable measurement. While it is not allowing to select a default option, the first one that you have checked on will default to the measurement. I do this in my applications and turn off options until I get to feet.
I also agree about the freehand draw option.
Hi, the original comment was regarding the newly released "Tool Tips" option for the Draw widget. I was wondering if there is a way the developers could quickly (before next quarter update) make this user definable.
I have also tried the Units options, as Brian_McLeer mentioned, for default measurement units, but on the line segment, if I unclick every box except Feet, the tool defaults to meters (or kilometers depending on length) until I choose in the drop down while using the widget to feet.
I was hoping there would be improvements in the Measure widget for mulit segment measurements, that would either log or label individual segments, but this did not occur. It seems the Draw tool will be our best option now, but it doesn't help that the "Tool Tips" doesn't display in feet. The tool tips value constraints, like if you hit tab and try to enter values, will only allow for meters in my apps as well. Is this in any way user definable?
Thanks
I have also defined the measurement tool to show feet but for most of the users of the experiences I have created, they only see measurements in meters; even if they choose feet. I think there is a bug in this tool.
@GISMapLady are you talking about the Measurement widget or the Draw widget with tool tip contraints? I think I've found out the Draw widget with tool tips constraits will only use measurements in the current coordinate system, so if using the default WGS 84 web mercator, it will always be in meters. However, I have used my local state plane coordinate system with units in feet and when I use the draw widget with tool tip constraits, the measurements are not accurate.
