In the February 2024 update of Experience Builder the ability to enable or disable toggling layer visibility was removed from the Map Layers widget.

From the what's new page:

  • Map Layers widget—You can allow users to search for layers by name and drag layers to reorder them at run time. The new Use tick boxes to control layer visibility setting replaces the Toggle layer visibility setting. The widget supports five data source level data actions—Add to table, Export, Set filter, Set location, and Statistics.

This functionality should not have been removed, and has made my existing experience builder application clunky. The tick boxes could be an addition, but it was unnecessary to remove this basic setting. It should be brought back as soon as possible.

With the new options, it is now impossible to prevent users from being able to toggle visibility. Turning the Tick boxes off creates eye ball buttons only visible on hover.

Aesthetically, I like the design update, but the functionality has been compromised.
