Allow EB users to create custom query statements just like in the Filter widget in WAB

Hi,

I wish there will be an option to allow users to create their own query statements (as many as they like) and not just pre-defined queries we set for them. And unique values must get filtered by the previous statement.

This is already implemented in the Filter widget in WAB but it's not smart enough to filter the unique values on the second query ("contingent values").

Say

1st filter. Category is Food
2nd filter. Subcategory is Restaurant, Coffee Shops, Tea Shop etc. and should no longer show me subcategory values which belong to Transport or Health or Business Category etc.

I hope I am making sense.

I agree with all the points made above. This feature is absolutely necessary. Please add this functionality.

Allowing users to run their own searches makes sense, taken to its logical extreme, you're asking the ExB author to try and imagine every possible query and pre-build them.

The path of least resistance here is to allow a user to run their own query. Since this feature was available in WAB, our ExB users expect parity here.

The current state is the ExB authors are constantly fielding questions to add one-off questions and then negotiating with users as to whether or not those should be added. It is definitely an encumbrance to maintaining the application.

@Jianxia is this functionality on the ExB team's radar?

Even if we could create a query with parameters for the user to complete, that would be helpful.

Hi all, ability to allow end users to create their own SQL expressions (custom filter) is now available in the Filter widget in Experience Builder for ArcGIS Online and developer edition 1.16. See the blog post for details. It will be available in Enterprise 11.5.
