In Experience builder there are a ton of ways to customize look and feel, but the map tools themselves are locked to just two possible layout options (other than just removing/adding).
Build a way to customize which buttons go into which corners.
Frequently irritating. I would like to be able to position these as well.
I find it irritating too. Especially when you want to place your own widgets inside the map (such as the search widget with ability to search layer source), it gets annoying needing to custom space them out, and then it doesn't mesh well with the rest of the map tools, so then you get creative. WAB had the ability to position them in a certain pattern and I wonder why this wasn't built in immediately after WAB users needed to migrate.
I completely agree!!! I was just about to start a thread about this myself, but someone posted it first and thinks exactly the same way.
I really hope this can be implemented—it would be great if the development team could address and fix this issue as a matter of urgency!
Hi All,
Steps:
1. In Map settings, go to "Tools Layout" and click "Customize".
2. Drag map tools to any of the four corners.
3. For the Overview map tool, go to Map widget settings, open "Overview map settings", and select the position.
Note: This feature is only available in full mode on medium and large devices.
Thanks,
Ke
@Ke_Xu what version of experience builder are you using for the map widget to have the option to customize like that? That's never been an option either in ArcGIS Online or Enterprise.
@Zach-Williams, this feature will be released on ArcGIS Online in February 2026 and ArcGIS Enterprise 12.1.
