Synopsis
Allow authors to mark Divider widgets as decorative so they can be ignored by screen readers.
Technical Description of the Enhancement
Divider widgets in Experience Builder are currently announced by screen readers, even when they are purely visual elements. This creates unnecessary noise in the accessibility reading order and can reduce clarity for users of assistive technologies.
The requested enhancement is to add a toggle within the Divider widget settings that allows authors to mark the divider as decorative. When enabled, the divider should be excluded from the accessibility tree so screen readers do not detect or announce it.
Ideal Workflow
Authors should be able to specify whether each Divider widget is decorative. When marked as decorative, screen readers should skip the divider entirely, allowing users with visual impairments to navigate content without unnecessary interruptions.
Use Case and Business Impact
Announcing decorative dividers adds clutter to the screen reader experience and can hinder efficient navigation. Providing an option to hide decorative dividers improves accessibility, ensures cleaner reading order, and supports compliance with best‑practice accessibility guidelines across all public‑facing applications.
